"Money is our energy at work"

Licensed by Spiritual-Growth-Lounge.com

Most of us spend in one way or another on daily basis. It's no wonder that money, and the purchases made with money, play a significant role in our lives.

Focusing on what's behind our investments can be a real eye-opener. Whether we're conscious of it or not, there is an intention (or deeper underlying meaning) behind every cent we choose to spend, or withhold. The reason for our purchases typically goes well beyond, "Oh, just because I wanted to buy it."

At its best, spending is about creating a positive outcome in our lives and those of others. At its weakest, it is about distracting ourselves, compensating for a particular lack, or engaging in misguided actions.

It's when we begin to proactively affirm our reasons for making a purchase (before we actually do it) that we come into our power. Conscious spending is an incredibly meaningful practice.

Why does Sheila want to buy herself that painting? Perhaps it's an appreciation of the calm feeling the painting gives her. (Creating peace in her life.) Maybe the painting reminds her of fond childhood memories with her mother. (Honoring expressions of affection and a very special person.)

What is Ted's motivation for buying a new dining room table? It could be to accommodate a larger group of friends and family. (Bringing about an environment of togetherness and fun.)

Why will the Garcia's take on a mortgage? To buy and live in a new home. (An investment in their cherished family and an expression of stability.)

We all have our reasons for spending, and the clearer we are about what they are, the more satisfaction we can experience in our lives. Imagine if our car were to consciously represent prosperity in our lives. Every time we'd get in and buckle up, we would be recognizing a bountiful universe and the gratitude we have for it.

Giving also can take on much more personal significance. A donation to a worthy cause now becomes our contribution to the health and well-being of others. Demonstrating we are all connected in a way that transcends distance, culture, and life experience. That's a thought we can take confidence in and actually profit by.

As we move forward with our future purchases, it's worth considering: On what do we choose to spend our money and our energy?

Another lesson learned...
